Hello Lincoln Families,

We have had an amazing year in reading! Thank you so much for supporting your child’s reading plan; with your help, we were able to nurture a true love of reading and see wonderful growth in both fluency and comprehension.

For our few remaining instructional days, students are welcome to read at home for "extra yards" if they choose. However, since we are currently immersed in a rigorous in-class book study of The Hope Chest—focusing on main idea, theme, and summary writing—at-home bookmarks are no longer required. Students will also have time in class to continue reading their independent books. Thank you for supporting all your child's hard work this year!

ABC Countdown tomorrow is "Outdoor Toy" day! Students can bring something to play with outside. This can include plastic bats or baseball equipment, bikes, scooters, skateboards, roller blades, and hoverboards. If it rains, we will try to reschedule.

Kiwanis Park this Friday morning from 9:00 to 11:00. We will leave Lincoln about 8:40. Students are welcome to bring outside equipment to use while they are there.

Birthdays

We love to celebrate birthdays! For students who would like to celebrate birthdays in our class, please bring in non-food items, such as pencils instead of cupcakes. Sometimes parents assemble small gift bags. These are just ideas. There is no obligation to send anything!

Snacks in the Classroom

Please ensure that everyday snacks are quick and easy for your child to handle. For example, please refrain from yogurt, pudding, uncut fruit, Doritos, Takis, or messy items as daily snacks. This prevents spills from damaging school devices, furniture, and carpet. Often, we have to eat a quick snack while working. These snacks work better in the lunchroom. Thank you for your understanding.
